Factors for Success and Failure of Telemedicine
Prof Diana Schmidt, School of Medical Informatics of Heidelberg University and Heilbronn University Germany, would be giving a talk on “Factors for success and failure of Telemedicine in Germany and USA” on 8th January 2008. The talk would start at 3.45 p.m. and likely to continue up to 5.00 p.m.
Telemedicine is widely expected to improve patient outcomes at lower overall costs. It has the potential for improving health care delivery to vast rural population in India. According to her, telemedicine projects have been pursued since the early 1980s in Europe and USA yet there are only few areas where telemedicine is really established in routine clinical practice. She is expected examine few projects from USA and Germany and highlight factors as well as barriers to success of telemedicine projects.
